01 The second letter of the
English alphabet. The 2nd
in any series, especially in scientific classification. In Hebrew this letter is called ‘beth’ (a
house) and in Egyptian hieroglyphics it is indicated by a crane.
02 The :B symbol is used to
indicate the darker MPs/mps
in chess. :B always moves second in a game of chess. b (Greek symbol) may also be
used. The player with the :B MPs/mps (dark). :B moves after :A has moved.
:b may also be used. “You may
learn more from your enemies than from your friends - the encounter is a
potential gift of knowledge”. :B moves
are sometimes indicated by three dots ie, ...PA5-$E07/E05 (the three dots
indicate that B-PA5 has made a move), ie, B-PA5-$E07/E05.
03 NOTE: the :B MPs/mps may
start on the 1st and 2nd or 7th and 8th
ranks of a chess board (ISP, Level-1).
04 In the Roman Notation ‘B’ = 300. When a line is placed above the ‘B’ it
indicates 3000.
05 B-flat = A-sharp
(music).
06 Soldiers who disgrace themselves
are marked with BC (bad character).
